PSLE Results 2025: What Students Should Take Note Of for 2026 Secondary School

PSLE Results 2026: For the year, 98.5 per cent of Primary 6 students who sat for the PSLE made it to secondary school.
The modern PSLE no longer merely sorts students into rigid academic tracks, but instead focuses on supporting individual strengths and flexible progression through Full Subject-Based Banding (Full SBB).
This shift means students should no longer focus purely on total score, but also on how each subject contributes to future subject combinations in secondary school.
The real challenge begins when they step into secondary school classrooms. The learning expectations shift rapidly and students are required to think more analytically, apply concepts across topics and explain scientific processes with greater precision. This is especially evident in Science subjects, where early topics lay the groundwork for future academic performance. Without a strong foundation during the first year of secondary school, gaps can quickly widen and become harder to repair later on.
Key Changes & Systems to Understand
Students and parents should familiarise themselves with:
- Full Subject-Based Banding (Full SBB): Allows students to take subjects at different academic levels based on individual subject performance.
- Posting Groups: Determines overall placement grouping but does not restrict subject progression entirely.
- Subject Level Eligibility: Subject-specific AL scores affect whether students can access G3 or G2 levels for each subject in secondary school.
Why Chemistry Requires Special Attention Early

Chemistry is one of the subjects where early foundation matters the most.
After the PSLE Results 2026, secondary school is the next step.
Topics introduced in Secondary 1 — such as particle theory, periodic trends and chemical bonding — are not isolated. They form the base for key O-Level chapters like acids and bases, redox reactions and electrolysis.
If early understanding is weak, students often struggle later with:
- Writing chemical equations
- Interpreting reaction processes
- Understanding mole concepts
- Applying concepts in practical exams
This is why structured support from the start can make a lasting difference.
How AchieversDream Supports Students in This Critical Transition
AchieversDream Chemistry Tuition Programmes are designed specifically to help students build strong foundations before struggles take root.
Students benefit from:
- Step-by-step explanation of key Chemistry concepts
- MOE-syllabus aligned content for Secondary levels
- Structured lessons that bridge primary science to secondary Chemistry
- Clear focus on conceptual mastery, not rote memorisation
- Progressive training for O-Level Chemistry requirements
This ensures students are not simply coping, but building confidence and clarity from the start.

2026 Secondary School Posting Outcomes: Based on the 2025 PSLE results (released 25 November 2025) and the subsequent Secondary 1 (S1) Posting Exercise, results were released on 19 December 2025. Students who achieved PSLE AL 4 and below generally had access to Express stream, while those with AL 5-14 qualified for Normal (Academic) or Normal (Technical) streams. The 2026 cohort now starts their secondary school journey in January 2026. For specific school cut-off points, check our Secondary School Cut-Off Point guide for the PSLE 2025 / S1 2026 posting data.
