Jerald Lie and the Story Behind Achievers Dream

Jerald Lie, founder of Achievers Dream, began his journey in education with a personal story that resonates with many students.

As a child, he struggled academically—often finding himself at the bottom of his class, particularly in science subjects.

Fueled by his early struggles, Jerald dedicated his career to creating a system that would help students like his younger self—those who lacked confidence but had untapped potential.

In 2021, Jerald introduced AD⁺, an AI-powered Chemistry super app designed to transform the way students learn chemistry. The app, a culmination of three years of intensive development by the AD Chemistry team, incorporates years of collective teaching experience and insights from coaching more than 2500 students.

Under his leadership, the school not only offers an NEA-approved Chemistry lab but has also expanded to three locations across Singapore, serving over 3000 students from more than 120 schools.

A Space to Experiment, Fail, and Learn

A key feature that sets Achievers Dream apart is its NEA-approved Chemistry laboratory—an uncommon asset among tuition centres. More than just a place for practicals, the lab serves as a safe space where students are encouraged to get hands-on with experiments, test their understanding, and even make mistakes. 

Jerald believes that failure is not a setback but a stepping stone in the learning process. 

In an interview, Jerald explains that science practical is, in many ways, like swimming:
“You cannot just learn the theory of swimming. The textbook might tell you to stretch your arms forward and push them back in a stroke… but without trying it yourself, you won’t really learn.“

Instead, by allowing students to physically engage with what they’ve learned in theory, the lab deepens their conceptual understanding and builds critical thinking skills.
